There are some weddings that perfectly capture the charm of Old Florida, and Ashley and John's celebration at the historic Gasparilla Inn was one of them.
From the tree-lined ceremony beneath the famous banyans of Boca Grande to a vibrant sailcloth tent reception overlooking Pelican Lawn, every detail reflected the couple's joyful personalities and love for the island they chose to celebrate on.
Beautifully planned by the talented team at NK Weddings, the day flowed effortlessly from beginning to end, allowing Ashley and John to simply soak in every moment with their family and friends.
A Ceremony Beneath the Banyan Trees
One of Boca Grande's most iconic locations, Banyan Street, served as the backdrop for the couple's ceremony.
Towering banyan trees stretched overhead, creating a natural canopy that filtered the afternoon light and provided the perfect setting for a romantic fall wedding. Guests were seated in our bamboo ceremony chairs, which paired beautifully with the island's timeless charm and coastal atmosphere.
The vibrant floral designs by Kaleidoscope Floral added incredible energy to the ceremony. Bold shades of coral, pink, yellow, peach, and lush greenery framed the aisle and perfectly complemented the warmth of the historic setting. Every detail felt joyful, inviting, and full of life.
A Scenic Ride Through Boca Grande
Following the ceremony, guests climbed aboard the Sarasota Trolley for a short ride through the island to the Gasparilla Inn.
The trolley ride offered one more opportunity to enjoy the charm of Boca Grande before arriving at Pelican Lawn, where cocktails, conversation, and an unforgettable evening awaited.
Coastal Elegance on Pelican Lawn
Cocktail hour welcomed guests to one of the Gasparilla Inn's most picturesque event spaces before they entered the stunning sailcloth tent for dinner and dancing.
Inside, the design struck the perfect balance between classic coastal elegance and bold, modern color.
Rich greens, vibrant florals, colorful lighting, and thoughtful design details transformed the tent into an inviting space filled with warmth and personality. Our Hunter Chairs surrounded each beautifully appointed table, complementing the linens from BBJ La Tavola and tabletop rentals from Different Look Rentals while adding natural texture to the overall design.
One of our favorite trends this season has been incorporating shades of green into wedding design, and this celebration showcased exactly why. The color brought freshness, depth, and a timeless coastal feel that blended effortlessly with the vibrant floral palette.
An Evening to Remember
As dinner gave way to dancing, the energy inside the tent only continued to grow.
Guests celebrated beneath the glow of colorful lighting while an incredible evening of music kept the dance floor full from start to finish. Every detail from the custom stage design to the vibrant atmosphere encouraged everyone to stay a little longer and celebrate a little louder.
It was the kind of reception where every song brought another group of guests to the dance floor, creating memories that will be talked about for years to come.
